NEWS MEDIA RELATIONS

The Catahoula Parish School Board shall direct all regular news releases to originate in the central office to deliver information to the public system.  The Superintendent or his/her designee shall be the official spokesman to inquiries of the news media.  The Superintendent or his/her designee shall provide research assistance as needed by reporters who are writing features about the schools, whenever possible.

The Superintendent or his/her designee shall hold press conferences as the need for such conferences shall indicate.  The Superintendent shall be the authorized interpreter of School Board policy to the public and to the employees of the School Board.

Information concerning any present or foreseeable emergencies shall be transmitted to all School Board members as necessary.  The School Board shall recognize the Superintendent as the sole spokesman of the School Board and school district during any emergency.  Questions for information shall be directed to the Superintendent.
